This session will include an introduction to remote sensing including general concepts, recent advancements, and its application to asset management in civil and structural environments. Topics will include the use of LiDAR, Standard and Multi-spectrum Imaging, and geophysical methods. Integration of these technologies into geospatial databases, application of advancements in Artificial Intelligence, and methodologies to use geospatial data for the management of assets will be discussed.

Speaker Bio
Robert Hendricks holds a BSc in Geology (2008), an MSc in Geology and Geological Engineering (2011), and a PhD in Earth Science (2015). His diverse expertise encompasses geology, radiometric geochronology, geomorphology (both fluvial and marine), geophysics, and remote sensing. Dr. Hendricks joined BHC in 2025 to develop the remote sensing and geospatial data application capabilities of the firm. He manages the geospatial group and is responsible for client communications, project design, team coordination, and results evaluation.
