SUMMARY:NASFA Webinar: Sustainability Roadmaps: Tracking and Planning State Progress
DESCRIPTION:Description How does your state report on sustainability efforts? Learn about the tools the State of California uses to collect\, analyze and report on energy and water efficiency\, greenhouse gas emissions\, electric vehicles\, climate change adaptation\, decarbonization and other sustainability mandates and policies. California has used Sustainability Roadmaps and Facility Data Sheets the past thirteen years to track and report progress toward meeting legislative\, executive order and policy requirements and to plan how targets will be met. Sustainability Roadmaps are shared on public websites along with metrics and results. This helps motivate state agencies to improve and work toward successful results. Can your state benefit from a similar program?Learning Objectives Learn how California tracks and reports on their sustainability effortsUnderstand how California collects and interprets data related to energy\, water\, electric vehicles\, resilience\, decarbonization\, recycling and purchasing.See how California plans ahead for compliance with state sustainability policies and mandatesSpeaker Bio Dan Burgoyne is the Sustainability Manager for California's Department of General Services (DGS). He is a LEED Fellow and NASFA National Director. Dan leads the development and implementation of California policies in energy\, green building\, decarbonization\, zero net energy\, climate change adaptation and resiliency for state facilities. He leads a statewide decarbonization planning project. Dan chairs California's Sustainable Building Working Group and served as an advisor federal and state agencies. Dan served on the Board of Directors of the USGBC\, and other committees\, and as an instructor for the UC Davis Extension.Derek Longacre is the Sustainable Facilities and Operations Program Manager for the California Department of Transportation. As part of this role\, Derek is a lead author of the CalTrans Sustainability Roadmap.
